This morning, I got yet another interview with Pernec Corp. Sdn. Bhd. I’m not sure if I’ll land a job there, because according to the interviewer, although I don’t have much experiences, he’s willing to hire me because of my will to success and good results
Buttttt… the only reason he has doubt on hiring me is my nervousness when he asked me to ’sell’ myself for the post
I’m soooo mad at myself sometimes
I do face being nervous a lot. I think maybe that’s part my personality = lack of communication skill + low confident + being humble too much
I really don’t know how to brag myself too much. I’m sooo bad at it, lol. And according to my friends, I also have problem accepting my specialty and strength
Maybe because I think that, what’s important is getting the job done and prove it with the work rather than just talking about it
But I have to admit, it’s actually a skill I should overcome and improve. I hope by time, I can overcome that weakness and become a better person

I can’t understand how anyone could think being humble is bad! I struggle so hard to be humble, but i can lose it really easily and.. i dunno, sometimes i DEMAND recognition. Which sounds terrible doesnt it?
Selling yourself for a job shouldn’t be a daunting task just because you’re not a bragger
heck, that’s a fantastic quality to possess. I dont think telling you to “sell yourself” wasn’t the right choice of words. In my experience with job interviews, just think of that question as being more like “what can you offer this company? if you’re hired, what can we expect from you?” It’s the same thing, but much less harsh and demanding. I really hope you get the job, you sound like a fantastic person
p.s. you say you want to overcome your “weakness”. As I’ve said, being humble is not in any way a weakness, but being nervous etc could be interpreted as passivity. Work on just being a bit more aggressive, instead of shying away.
Heck. I suck at selling myself. They should organize a bengkel tp teach students to face interviewers when we have to go for an interview to enter college. But, good luck on getting the job, love!
I get the same way. I get really nervous when I’m put on the spot like that but I really hope you get the job!
Hopefully you and I both can get over our weaknessess!
Big fan of your site by the way!
I have the exact same problem! So don’t worry about it. I’m sure you’ll be able to overcome it in time.
I do hope you got the job, too.

Tasha’s last blog post… Aloha!
Ohh, trust me, I know how it feels. I have anxiety issues so sometimes out of the blue I can get SUPER nervousness and I totally draw a blank, or I feel totally inadequate and shit like that. It is a very hard thing to overcome but just keep working at your self-worth as a person and all that… it takes a lot of effort to overcome but you can do it for sure.
Oooh. Yeah…Everyone gets nervous when they have to brag about themselves. I definitely do. I hate doing it at job interviews.
However, I hope you got the job. That’d be so awesome if you did!
Woah, good luck with that job! Yeah, I do know what you mean about being nervous, because that happens to me ALL the time, and NOT just on job interviews either! Yeah, my communication skills aren’t that great either… =/ But I do hope you’ve gotten the job!
