Pernec’s Family Day 2008

Fri, 29th August 2008 at 4:03 pm

Last Saturday was the long waited moment - it’s Pernec’s Family Day 2008 :home: It’s also my 1st time ever attending the company’s family day, since I only join the company last July :) This year, the family day was held in Desa Waterpark, Kuala Lumpur.

I went off to the event place as early as 6:45 am - see how excited I was? lol :P But the event only started around 9.00 am. But I can’t really have fun yet, cause I need to help out for the kids’ activities :blur: But it was cool too since the children were all so cute, lol.

The about 12.00 pm+, the adults’ activities started. And I decided to join in! It’s been soooooo long since I last join any sport related activities~ :warning: The 1st event that I entered was called ‘wet commuter race’ (or something like that, lol). But our team only managed to get the 4th place - which was also the last place, lmao

And then, I decided to join the next activity, which was called ‘tarzan in town’. It requires you to hold on to the rope while jumping from one tube to another… like the picture below;

Ahem, guess what? Our team won the first place! Yay! :hero: But just make sure you have a strong arm muscles to do this. Because I don’t - and right after my turn, my arms were shaking and a few hours later, it hurts sooo badly, for a few days! tsk! :time: But honestly, I loved it!

I’m so happy I was able to actually do and finish race :cheery: Winning it is a big bonus :crush: …because at 1st, I even thought of quitting the race, seeing how hard it looks :snide: I’m glad I decided to just go and give it a try

The official event ended at 2.00 pm. But we can still stay there until 6.00 pm. So there I was, together with kak Nor, kak Sahiyah, As & kak Ju, playing our hearts out - swimming, splashing here, there, and everywhere in the park, hehe.

It started raining at about 4.00 pm, so that’s when we decided to go back home. Overall, it was really fun and great… and I enjoyed it very much :luv:

Letting Go

Jordin Sparks - Tattoo

No matter what you say about love
I keep coming back for more
Keep my hand in the fire
Sooner or later I get what I’m asking for

No matter what you say about life
I learn every time I bleed
The truth is a stranger
Soul is in danger I gotta let my spirit be free
To admit that I’m wrong and then change my mind
Sorry but I have to move on and leave you behind

I can’t waste time so give it a moment
I realize nothings broken
No need to worry about everything I’ve done
Live every second like it was my last one
Don’t look back got a new direction
I loved you once, needed protection
You’re still a part of everything I do
You’re on my heart just like a tattoo
Just like a tattoo
I’ll always have you (I’ll always have you)

Sick of playing all of these games
It’s not about taking sides
When I looked in the mirror didn’t deliver
It hurt enough to think that I could stop
Admit that I’m wrong and then change my mind
Sorry but I’ve gotta be strong and leave you behind

If I live every moment
Won’t change any moment
There’s still a part of me in you
I will never regret you
Still the memory of you
Marks everything I do, oh

It’s an old song (well, not that old, and not that new as well :P ), sang by Jordin Sparks. I love the lyrics + music + Jordin’s voice in that song.

Somehow the lyrics touches my heart and reminded me of a small fragment of my past - which is about being hurt but still going strong for the loved ones. But after a while, I realized that I wasn’t that strong enough :snide: I decided to pull myself back and be gone forever. Some people might say giving up is just an action of weakness. But have you ever thought of it as giving in for the good. I think of it that way. Good for myself, good for the other as well. I must admit, I’m a very sentimental and sensitive kind of person :)

Sometimes you just can’t get everything you wanted. You need to let go of something to earn something much more important in life  But many people don’t earn it because they are too busy grieving on things they have lost or too busy trying hard to earn or be part of something they don’t belong. Well… I used to be one of them.

But letting go isn’t that easy to do. It takes a lot of inner strength, courage and love in able to do so. I found this very lovely poem about ‘letting go’;

To let go does not mean to stop caring,
it means I can’t do it for someone else.
To let go is not to cut myself off,
   it’s the realization I can’t control another.
To let go is not to enable,
but allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means
the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try to change or blame another,
it’s to make the most of myself.
To let go is not to care for,
   but to care about.
To let go is not to fix,
   but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge,
but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their destinies.
To let go is not to be protective,
it’s to permit another to face reality.
To let go is not to deny,
   but to accept.
To let go is not to nag, scold or argue,
but instead to search out my own shortcomings
   and correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish myself in it.
To let go is not to criticize or regulate anybody,

but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is not to regret the past,
but to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear less and love more
Remember: The time to love is short

How to overcome the heart ache? All you need is some patience and a little effort to let go of that fragment of past. Move on. And then, time will heal everything. That’s all ;)

Silver Medal for Lee Chong Wei

Mon, 18th August 2008 at 8:53 pm

It was sad, really :( When it’s only a step away from the gold medal. So far, Malaysia haven’t won any gold medal yet for the Beijing Olympics (!!!!!) We all were soooo happy to know he made it to the final game. I can say, he was one of our highest hope. Well, at least he earned Malaysia our first medal

But then, I really don’t blame him. I can feel the tense he’s going through… with all the opponent’s fans’ screaming, you can see the tense building up and his spirit going down (even though Chong Wei claimed that it’s not an excuse). Everything doesn’t seem right that night. Putting me in his place, I think I could even faint… lol.

Lee Chong Wei (left) and Lin Dan during their last ‘battle’

BEIJING: Lee Chong Wei won the silver medal in the badminton men’s singles after losing in the final to China’s Lin Dan 12-21, 8-21.

The world No 2 lost in two straight sets, faltering to Lin Dan, who remains the top men’s singles shuttler in the world.

In previous clashes between the two, Lin Dan had won nine times while Chong Wei had won five times.

The last time a Malaysian shuttler won a medal at the Olympics was in Atlanta in 1996 when Rashid Sidek took the bronze in the men’s singles and Cheah Soon Kit-Yap Kim Hock won the silver for the men’s doubles.

Rashid’s brothers Razif and Jailani won Malaysia’s first Olympic medal in Barcelona, Spain, in 1992 when they won a bronze in the men’s doubles.

Chong Wei got to the final by beating South Korean Lee Hyun-il, 21-18, 13-21, 21-13, while Lin Dan defeated fellow countryman Chen Jin in the semi-final, 21-12 , 21-18.

Despite failing to get the gold medal, Chong Wei is set to obtain RM300,000 from the Government for winning the silver medal. The Government had promised RM1mil as an incentive to any athlete who returns with an Olympic gold medal; RM300,000 for silver and RM100,000 for bronze.

Taken from: TheStar, 18/08/2008.

I hope Chong Wei will never give up… And by time, with help from his great coach - Misbun Sidek, he’ll improve more, and will be able to become world’s #1! Go Chong Wei… you’re our hero! :hero: (forgive me for being over-emotional, haha)

Some of the very sporting & happening crowd during the event :music:

Thank you kak Tre, Arin, kak Ina, kak Effa, kak Wani, kak Hezz, kak Inc, Addya, kak Intan. Not forgetting, kak Maya, Sham, Kiera, Linda, kak Sant, Apeng, Fazu, Wawa kecik,… and everyone I may have forgotten to mention here. Love all of you so much! Also a BIG thank you to abang Bad & Diddy for everything :luv:

Most artist won’t care much about what’s going on before the event, they only care to get involved in the ‘fun part’ only. Heh. But being a special person as he has always been, he always try to give his best effort to get involve and help us before and throughout the event. I sincerely hope he’ll stay as humble as he is now, no matter what

I’ll blog about it soon, cause I’m still waiting for more photos during the event

*Gasp~!*

Wed, 6th August 2008 at 3:34 pm

I haven’t blog for weeks. Slap me. Haha. *long pause* I seriously don’t know what to write. This time, it’s not because I have nothing to share, but I have too many to share that I don’t know where to start, lol :wrong: So I’ll just start with what’s coming up :cheery:

This coming weekend is going to be fun. On Saturday, I have 2 of my friends’ weddings to attend. I MUST attend them simply because both are my close friends from my school & matriculation time - Ellina & Aween. And it’s the time I’ll get to meet most of my old friends

And on Sunday, I’ll be helping out with the Bowling Tournament held by Diddy FC. The tournament attracts a lot of sponsors - BHPetrol, Digi Superstar, F-Tersix, Era FM, Hot FM, Suria FM, Astro, Clinique, Sultan Muzaffar, MurahDotCom & BookBinders. There’s also Media Hiburan as the official media. So many eh? Those who participte are going to love it :luv: But although if you’re not one of the participants, please don’t hesitate to join us, because there’ll be performances from Diddy and other singers too. I’m so looking forward for this event. Hopefully things will go on smoothly and everyone will have so much fun! :star:

This week has been soooo stressful actually, but I really don’t want to talk or think about it much. So, I’ll just skip those not-fun stuff eh? Haha. Will blog more later :write: And I truly promise I’ll return all your lovely comments asap yeah? *hugs*
